  Meteorological Parameters

The basic meteorological data are measured and recorded simultaneously by a multi-sensor instrument the Vaisala WXT520 multiparameter weather transmitter.

The Meteorological parameters measured are:

- air temperature unit[deg C],

- Atmospheric pressure[hPa],

- Relative humidity[%],

- Wind speed[m/s] and direction[deg],

- Precipitation[mm].

Lineage

Meteorological data were acquired directly at The Nepal Climate Observatory - Pyramid (NCO-P) using the Vaisala WXT510 weather transmitter.

These measurements include :

- air temperature unit[deg C],

- Atmospheric pressure[hPa],

- Relative humidity[%],

- Wind speed[m/s] and direction[deg],

- Precipitation[mm].

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has given to The Nepal Climate Observatory - Pyramid (NCO-P), and at Monte Cimone station, the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, the role of "global stations" of the Global Atmosphere Watch Programme (GAW). The two stations are thus become the 33rd and the 34th point 'focal' monitoring of the composition of Earth's atmosphere. GAW stations are required to submit meteorological parameters to the appropriate GAW World Data Centres.
