  Monte Curcio instruments. TSI Scanning Mobility Particle Sizer

Monte Curcio (MCU) instruments: TSI Scanning Mobility Particle Sizer (SMPS). The Model SMPS is designed for long-term measurement of aerosol particles and over there in highly burden regions. It is a mobility particle size spectrometer, which can measure continuously the particle number size distribution in a size range from 10 to 800 Nanometres. The temporal resolution to measure a complete particle number size distribution is approximately 5 minutes. Equipment is based on TSI CPC 3775.

Statement
Annual calibration of the instrument is performed by sizing accuracy with size standard and calibration of the sheath air flow rate. A size standard is used to determine the exact sizing of the instrument and therefore to calibrate the sheath air flow rate. This procedure is performed using an ultrasonic nebulizer, pure water, and a 200 nm size standard. Calibration of the pressure transducer is performed annually as well as check of the saturator sponge inside the CPC.//Ref.
