Explanation

The WDCGG has established data formats that are in principle common across different species and types of data. The followings are points to be taken note of

regarding the formats.

1) The Archived data consists of the header part and the data part. Each line in the latter is space-delimited in fixed length.

2) Meteorological data are stored in a separate file as are done for gaseous species, but in a slightly different format. Each file contains observational values for only one parameter.

3) The header part includes the following items to overview the data part; DATA FORMAT, TOTAL LINES, HEADER LINES, DATA VERSION, NUMBER OF SAMPLING HEIGHTS, TIME ZONE, and CREDIT FOR USE.

4) Calculation Status (CS) in the data part specifies who provides the averaged value, i.e., the

Contributor or the WDCGG. In principle, the Contributors submit monthly and daily mean, as

well as hourly mean. However, monthly, daily, and hourly mean data may be calculated by

the WDCGG on a provisional basis for reference if they are NOT submitted. Whenever the

Contributors submit their own mean values, the Archived data are updated.

5) A column for Remark (REM) is reserved in the data part. The Contributor can define the contents of REM if necessary. The definition is described in COMMENTS (line 30) of the header part.

Statement

The air is sampled by a 2m long heated intake at 7 m height above

the ground. The air intake is composed by an external (outside building) steel

pipe (internally covered by Teflon) and the internal (inside building) Pyrex pipe.

A Teflon sampling line (lenght 1.5m) connects the air intake with analysers

The UV photometer analyser (1108 W/GEN #136) is calibrated by the laboratory transfer standard (Dasibi 1008 PC #6506) twice a year.

On October 2006, the laboratory transfer standard (Dasibi 1008 PC #6506)

has been compared with IMGC-O3SRP at the National Institute of Metrological Research (INRIM) with primary standard and treaceability chain in Italy.

On June 2008, the laboratory transfer standard (Dasibi 1008 PC #6506) has

been compared with SRP#15 at the World Calibration Centre for surface O3

(WCC-EMPA).

The UV photometer analyser (1108 W/GEN #136) was also checked and

calibrated at the DASIBI ITALIA company in November 1996, December

1997, April 2001, November 2001,July 2005.

The laboratory transfer standard (Dasibi 1008 PC #6506) was also checked

and calibrated and at the DASIBI ITALIA company in July 1996, November

1999, August 2005, August 2007.

Processing Row data from monitoring device are acquired every minute and processed to half-hour mean values (by averaging 10 minutes mean values in the period 1996-2001).
